Gas vs. EV: Is It Time for a Gas Car Purchase?

Hi there, welcome to my blog where I share my thoughts on everything related to cars and driving. Today I want to talk about a hot topic: the effect of gas price increase on future gas vehicles. Is it a good time to buy a gas car now? How much market has EV captured in recent years? Let's find out!

First of all, let me tell you that I love gas cars. I grew up with them, I enjoy the sound of the engine, the smell of the exhaust, the thrill of the speed. But I also know that gas cars are not very good for the environment, and they are becoming more expensive to run as gas prices keep rising.

According to a report by RMI (Rocky Mountain Institute), gas car sales peaked in 2017 and have been falling at 5% a year since then. By the end of this decade, gas car sales will fall to between 14 million and 38 million cars a year . That means less demand for gas, but also less supply, as oil companies will have to raise prices to make up for the lost revenue . In fact, some analysts predict that gas prices will increase by as much as 17 cents per litre by 2030 due to new fuel regulations .

So, is it a good time to buy a gas car now? Well, it depends on your budget and your preferences. If you are looking for a cheap and reliable car that you can use for short trips and occasional long drives, then maybe a gas car is still a good option for you. But if you are looking for a long-term investment, or if you care about reducing your carbon footprint, then maybe you should consider an EV instead.

EVs are becoming more popular and affordable every year. They have lower maintenance costs, lower fuel costs, and lower emissions than gas cars. They also offer better performance, comfort, and convenience than gas cars. According to BNEF (Bloomberg New Energy Finance), EVs will account for 58% of global passenger car sales by 2040 . That means more charging stations, more incentives, and more choices for EV drivers.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to switch to an EV or are you sticking with your gas car? Let me know in the comments below. And don't forget to subscribe to my blog for more updates on cars and driving. Thanks for reading!
